Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends is far more than a fly-on-the-wall documentary. The presenter is not content with merely observing the strange behaviour of his fellow man – he becomes a willing participant in their activities and displays an infectiously good-humoured enthusiasm.

Louis’s understanding and nonconfrontational reporting style brings out both the best and the worst in his subjects. In each pisode, he comes across a society who has found a suitable subculture celebrating their interest. Subjects have a certain kookiness and without being trivial or irrelevant, they say something about the world.
